Dizzy had an incredibly full Toller National week, by my side in agility, rally, obedience, and breed. We were short on Qs in agility with a bad case of the one-ies, but he had some beautiful runs and the Qs we earned also came with blue ribbons! Obedience and Rally in the rain was a fun challenge that he took completely in stride. He had another perfect 300 rally day to earn HIT, HTQ, and complete his Rally Championship, RM2 and RAE2! Our first attempt at Open obedience went very well, but a couple unfortunate and unexpected mistakes cost the Q. No love in the breed ring, but he covered ground beautifully and got to show off his free stack. Dizzy and I win together and we lose together; we are a team and at the end of the day, best in show is the dog snuggled in my lap. I am so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing partner.
Grandpa Twizzy came out of retirement to show in Veterans (9-11yrs). Unfortunately he was battling a muscle strain in his leg, but Eva Ojolick worked her magic on him ringside to help him win his class and earn a spot in the Best of Breed ring!
Twizzy was the dog who brought me to DoChara. I could have never imagined the incredible turn my life would take when I fell completely in love with a picture I found of him online. I went to Brad and said “I want a Twizzler, but make him sporty.” He said “You got it” and the rest is history! I am so grateful to Twiz for leading me to Brad and the life full of love and beautiful dogs we have together. It was a special honor to escort the dog who changed my life around the veterans ring.
Hula came in season right in the middle of Toller National, but lucky for us she waited until after agility! She ran beautifully over both agility days and earned her Novice FAST title with 1st place and 3rd place runs! She also gave me beautiful effort in her Open JWW and Standard runs, but we were just short of Qs. Hula and I survived two cuts in the breed ring amongst a very large and high quality entry! Her fluid movement just oozed with strength and confidence and she free stacked like an old pro. Ribbons or no, I am always incredibly proud to step into the ring with my girl.
Tickle was entered in conformation in the 15-18mo puppy bitch class. She may not have placed as high as we would have liked, but she was up against high quality competition and she showed like an absolute star in both her sweeps and nationals classes. I was so proud of how well she handled this big, high energy event! She also got to show in Brace with Hula. They made the cutest little pair and were awarded 3rd.
